Kor Talu Island Resort and Siam Marine Rehabilitation Foundation and partners cohosted “Siam Marine Volunteer Camp” activity to educate and encourage the younger generation and Bangsaphan community in Prachuabkirikhan province community to learn and become the guardian of their home environment.
The youth camp which has been rolled out since December 8, 2014 focuses on learning activities which will enable the local youth selected from community schools to realize the value of marine resources and environment, and to encourage them to learn and develop skills in safeguarding the environment and take part in environmental preserving activities.
The program is one of the efforts to support HRH Princess Sirindhorn’s royal project to preserve plant genetics, and have been well supported by local schools, fishery community, and government and business organizations.
To commemorate His Majesty the King’s 87th birthday anniversary, on December 17 – 18, 2014, the foundation together with its supporters hosted exhibition and seminar to share the program findings as well as a ceremony which took place in Bangsaphan Noi in Prachuabkirikhan province to uncover the blueprint of the building dedicated to operation of HRH Princess Sirindhorn’s royal projects. On this occasion, 99 hawksbill sea turtles were released to the sea and sacred trees were planted at the location. |
